Tanger Med: the Mediterranean’s largest port

Tanger Med port, Morocco: 11.1 million TEU in 2025, 161 Mt of cargo, 1,200 companies and 110,000 jobs — Africa’s and the Mediterranean’s top container hub, 14 km from Europe.

Fourteen kilometres from Spain, on the Strait of Gibraltar where a fifth of world shipping passes, Tanger Med has become the top container port of the Mediterranean and of Africa — and the clearest proof of Morocco’s industrial strategy.
